Nothing to report here yet, but a thread where the racing can be discussed without making any reference to stewards/FIA decisions. No - any engine failure during a race allows for a new one without penalty.

That is just a rule clarification, no comment about the FIA!

Why leave it at that? Perhaps we should exclude all reference to teams that aren't involved in the title chase, or perhaps not mention pitstops? Any of these can affect the outcome, just like steward decisions. If you exclude them, then you miss the full picture.

I thought maybe this might avoid some of the arguments about bias/favouritism which get in the way of discussing the racing. And I know I am as guilty as many for making such comments, but some people have complained about those arguments so can just check in here.

I hear the weather is warm all weekend with a chance of "light showers" on sunday. I think Ferrari will have the edge, especially with the long straight, it will be very close again though.

I reckon Ferrari will put Kimi on pole, in the hope that Hamilton will try another "Fuji Special". McLaren REALLY need Kovaleinen to step up to the mark this weekend.

I think Hamilton's probably been given a bking by Ron so will be a bit more likely to play the percentages game this weekend. I've noticed a lot of people have the feeling he's lost his head and is going to lose it again. I have a feeling he may yet suprise everyone.

I think Massa, Hamilton and Kubica will be playing it safe, especially at the start. There's no point throwing it all away on the first lap, but they'll need to qualify well to stay out of trouble.

I don't think the Champoinship will be decided this weekend.

I just want a good clean race, I think Alonso will go balls out and maybe win again - confidence must be high and when on a roll, keep rolling!
If Louis doesn't stuff it into a passing Walrus or something I am thinking 3rd for him, Massa maybe 4th.

Perhaps whoever moderates the Motorsport forum (Max, Bernie, Luca?) should kick things off on the thursday immediately before a GP ?
