Ecclestone in 'telling the truth' shock

that Bernie Ecclestone, the well known benefactor of F1, told the truth in a reply to a question about F1. The somewhat shocked media hacks were staggered, checked their tape recorders and were stunned to discover that they could find no fault with his statement.
When question about the threats of the major manufacturers to quit F1 if the FiA/Mosley carries out its/his threat to impose standard engines on the sport, Bernie said: 'We're saving them an awful lot of money."
A quick, but thorough, investigation into the likely savings showed that McLaren Mercedes are likely to save 100% of their investment. Similar percentages are expected to be within the grasp of the Sauber/BMW team, Renault, Honda and Toyota. Ferrari were unavailable for comment although it is believed that they too are concerned as their accountancy team was seen in the Ferrari motorhome drinking champagne.
