Hamilton? Massa? McLaren? Ferrari?

As there are Driver (Mainly Hamilton) fans here and more long term team fans wondered what outcome you would like to see after Sunday's race. For the driver and constructor championships.

I don't know what other perms are out there but pretty sure I have covered the possibles.

I'm not one of the so-called fan-boys of either, but I'd love to see Mclaren and Lewis Hamilton take it, purely as an exercise in overcoming some of the ludicrous decisions made against them throughout the season.

Hamilton + Ferrari for me.

I'm a fan of F1, not any particular driver or team.

Leaving aside all the politics:

I think LH is the better of the two drivers left in contention - so LH for Driver's title.

But I think FM/KR is a stronger team combination than LH/HK - so Ferrari for Constructers.

Should the Constructors' Championship be for the best two-driver/car/team combination, for the constructor that has produced the best car, or for something else?

Interesting question. It should, I think, be about the best car. But, in reality, it's about the simple maths of adding together the points of two drivers going for the WDC.

So with two dominant teams, you need two drivers who can consistently qualify and finish in the top four.

As nice as it would be to have the Constructors' Championship take into account the performance of the team (by virtue of how well their cars/drivers perform collectively), it's not really practical when one member of the team can essentially win it for them provided their team-mate isn't doing too poorly, using LH and HK at Mclaren as an example, the latter has hardly been stealing podiums all season, though to some I'm sure he makes a good. wingman.

Perhaps an independant token trophy for best effort would be useful, where a team is rewarded with a useless token gesture that recognises their performance regardless of how full their trophy cabinet isn't. Just something to show recognition of the 'little guy' if they've deserved it. A good year for Red Bull and a good year for Mclaren are totally different after all.

I would go for Lewis and Ferrari.

This reflects the skilled, racing spirit and (sometimes optimistic) entertainment that LH has provided this year. It also reflects Ferrari's competitiveness as a team with two top flight drivers in a good car.

Never cared about constructors titles, it's all about the driver for me. LH & FA are in a different class this year as they were last too

Now thats interesting, clearly McLaren have had better reliabilty this year and made less cock ups from a mechanical, pit work point of view. Without bringing up the Stewards stuff again (and Spa) does the blame lie with Hekki?

Hmm good point, but I think there should be a prize for the silliest design of the year, or to make it sound less childish, the "innovative design award". I could see one of the backmarkers putting a sombrero on top of the car to win that...
