What to do - 143 days to Melbourne
I guess the big news will be, which team will Alonso be driving for.
Still lots of paddock talk about Kimi quitting and Alonso going to Ferrari for 2009 !
I can't see it - but who knows - Kimi's a law onto himself and may decide ice fishing is more fun
Was that Ruben's last race for BAR
Was that PQ's last race for any F1 team ?
Is Bruno Senna racing with Honda next year
and will Ferrari let Force India out of there engine contract ?

A very valid point Mclaren seem very well prepared - they seem to be the only team with their head around Kers. Ferrari have admitted they are struggling
But it would be good to see a mix up - big hopes for Honda - if Force India run the Mclaren engine/gearbox/Kers combo - they are going to be in the mix sometimes
Perhaps Toyota with all there resources will make an impact next year

On the other hand, next year could prove to be very close:
McLaren will build a good car - that much is almost certain.
Ferrari should also build a good car.
BMW have made massive steps forward, and have spent most of this year developing the 2009 car.
Toyota have hit form recently, and perhaps have finally worked out how to build a competitive car.
Renault are back on the pace, and now have Alonso over the winter to develop a good car for 2009.
Red Bull have Vettel next year, and hopes are high for a competitive package.
Honda have Ross Brawn, a good drive in Button, and have also focussed development on the 2009 car.
Depending on just how good the Red Bull and Honda cars are next year, I reckon that's between 5 and 7 teams that should be capable of winning Grands Prix, and at least 9 drivers in those cars who have previously won races.
Should be a good year.

We know McLaren and Ferrari and gonna be up there, but the rest is gonna be hard to figure out.
I have high hopes Honda are back up there like they were in 05/06, Toyota SHOULD be uo there with their budget, and they have 2 good drivers in Glock and Trulli.
Renault, with Alonso at the helm, should be back up there, Alonso obviously knows how to develop a seriously quick car.
BMW, i just don't know, they should be good, but i get a feeling they'll be the Honda of next season.
Raikonen, kind of hope he leaves, he was immense at McLaren, but seems to just not be bothered anymore, just see his attitude from Singapore, no dedication or love for a sport that has made him so rich.

To radically change tyres, aerodynamics, engine life and performance and introduce KERS is just too much in one year. The usual suspects, McLaren and Ferrari may well come out on top, but they could also kill off Williams and Force India in the process.
Remember how quickly Honda “lost the plot” after a fairly good season in 2006 with no changes in rules. Next year is a relatively clean sheet of paper that will cost all teams very dearly.
I have visions of Nico in a real dud, Lewis chewing his tyres because of lack of downforce, poor reliability with Ferrari engines, Vetell down on Renault engine power, Renault struggling with another poor season start because of aerodynamics etc., etc.
