Should they have a guest Driver in F1?

seems like it happens in a few other racing formulas so should they introduce a guest driver in each race with a team run by someone like the FIA.

No. Guests in F1 would be silly. Works ok in single make series but they'd be at the back in last years Force India or some such. What would be the point.

So how about each team having to run a third car once during the season( not the final fthree races or Monaco), maybe the test driver or maybe a hotshoe but each would have had to tested during the winter and at the circuit.
Would be a good point of measure on some of he establishment!

why not have *all* the teams run a 3rd car, at least it would get the grid to a decent size....(and not increase the costs by much)

Now that might be interesting. They could throw the test driver on to race on a weekend they want more support on track. Or just the "home" GP.
