Anyone know anything about this car i have bought ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...
Cliff Jobsons old car
Ceejay on here.
lots of development done on that car and last fitted with a monster twin turbo cossy v6.
a stock v6 or a cossy v6 would dropp straight back in and it would run nicely in class C.
new front ends and front splitters are available for it as well :-p
It was originally built by moore racing ( now British GT with a viper)

So i hope i can use the bits off this car to develop what i have already got ?
if there is any photos around it would be great
Cliffs car had the bigger ap brakes on the front which would be handy.. and iirc it ran nitron dampers and the moore racing modified front suspension, but I think they would require a fair bit of work to mod the other car to fit them.
im sure cliff will be along later with more info..

I'd have thought it would be a better bet to run the existing car first as is before building another... you'll learn far more and pick up much more speed from track time more than anything else.. in my experience :-)
Cliff must have kept the AP's as the cars on willwoods now but that would be the first thing i would swap over, and i probably would do that straight away..

Thanks for the advice its all needed as i have never done this before !
THanks again Ivor
Good to see my old car resurface again, a real shame about the garage incident but it proved to be tough in the past so hopefully it's still ok. You've got an interesting combination with Johns car which has a nice engine for class C and a very good gearbox. Mine is quite light for a Taz and had lots of development work done on the chassis. Combining both elements should result in a very quick class C racer. Good luck.

Not sure how much help cliff's old car will be to you, it's a trailing arm car (albeit the most developed trailing arm car out there I would think) and john's is the supposedly superior A frame rear suspension, so the chassis is radically different between the two cars at the rear. However it's dirt cheap and if the damage from the garage incident is minor it will be a very fast tasmin chassis again so is well worth someone buying it, but maybe not as a spares donor for an A frame car.
ah re-read thread and youve already bought it lol. erm ok .. well stick a cheap V6 in it and sell it on to someone else to race?

Thats a point I'd forgotten that Johns car was an A-frame. it was the only original a-frame car built ( 2 others were later modified)
the brakes alone are probably worth what you've paid for the car...
There is a bit of stuff on it anyway may be worth swopping over what i want then selling the rest off to get a bit of money back.the brakes alone are probably worth what you've paid for the car...
Well got the cars back home now & put it on the ramp its in good shape the chassis's fine it needs an engine & gearbox then its a complete car again i was going to strip parts from it but its too good to butcher so i have decided to put a 24v cosworth v6 engine in it that i have, but not sure which gearbox is best to fit could anyone advise ?

Hi Ivor, Keith and Tim are probably best to ask as they also run 24v cossies. Mine is a 12v 2.9 and runs a borg warner T5 out of a cerbera which has an adaptor plate onto the ali bellhousing. I think John reid originally adapted the box to fit.sarbec said:

Hehe I thought that would be the case.re - gearbox im fairly sure cliff had a T5 in there so that would seem to be the simplest to put back...
Drop cliff or joo a line im sure they'll help out
