Watching Piquets qually lap it was refreshing to see him touching the white lines on the entry and exit of every corner - the consequences of going six inches further onto the grass being catastrophic. These days drivers just ride onto the three foot wide kerbs and if they overdo it just run onto a nice concrete strip - nowhere near the same level of commitment.

Brilliant footage, thanks for sharing. Senna's Lotus looked sublime. Not only do you not see sparks from the cars anymore, you don't see the vortices from the rear wings either. Presumably due to advances in aerodynamics.

To think these cars could lap the GP circuit not that much slower than a lot of fairly quick stuff laps the Indy circuit today! Truly a golden age of F1.

Was invited over to Dawn Treader yesterday by Patrick Morgan to have a look around at his fantastic collection of race cars.

One being Senna Lotus 98T chassis 04

At the moment Patrick is carrying winter maintenance as the car has completed a full race distance.

Chatting to him they run the car on 3.4 bar which is 850bhp!!

4 bar is 975bhp

5.5 bar is 1350bhp

Only just watched that first one but...WOW. Imagine standing there watching. Amazing. Never liked the cars mainly on how they looked but thats just changed my thinking.
