A fantastic driver who had a world championship in him methinks.

Agree with 'most' of the names mentioned so far (definately not Massa). Another couple of possibilities were Johnny Herbert and Alex Zanardi - one always seemd to have the ability prior to his accident, the other unquestionably demonstrated his abilities in the US before his accident. Neither were in the right place at the right time in F1.

Why are people arguing over Massa being in some lists, he is much better than Coulthard.

Nobody's mentioned Brundle yet? He didn't even win a race, but he was spectacular, mostly because of his character. Youtube his 1996 Melbourne accident in the Jordan. Horrific crash, 3 barrel rolls. He gets out, takes a bow for the crowd and asks if he can have the spare car. Or, after a heavy accident at Monaco; 1989 I think. Smashes his car to pieces, they bung him into the spare car, say "off you go". His response: "OK, what circuit am I at?"
