Silverstone Drivers Days

Right, it's coming up to my 19th and parents are asking what I want for my birthday. Last year I went for a blast in a Ferrari 360 and Aston DB9 around Bruntingthorpe, which was immense fun, and very convenient as I live about 10 minutes drive from there, so this year I wouldn't mind something similar. Been looking at the days that Silverstone have to offer (I know it's a bit further to go that Bruntingthorpe but still it's half an hour's quick blast down the A5 pretty much) and the Formula Silverstone day has caught my eye. (If you don't know what they are they're basically like formula Renault cars with a 1600cc 4 cylinder in it. The day is £99. Has anyone done this experience, and if so how good was it? And which configuration of Silverstone do they let you use? I'm guessing it isn't the full GP circuit which would be fun, but I'm still very interested nonetheless.

I'm doing one of these days in February.

In terms of money for track time - it's one of the best deals out there.

Also if you buy direct from Silverstone- the Single Seater Thrill is £99 (18mins track time) , but the Single Seater Experience is £169 (40mins track time).

Lastminute.com are selling the 'Experience' for £109 ( http://www.lastminute.com/lmn/pso/catalog/Product....) (Compare this to the money/track time you get at Drivers' Dream Days!)

Note: It's at the Stowe circuit at Silverstone - which isn't exactly renowned, but it's more the car I'm interested in.

Thanks very much for the info, I'm very interested in doing it, Stowe doesn't look too bad on google earth, even if it's quite small. My only previous experience of single seater open cockpit racing was Coventry Karting, which I shall be doing again soon just before my birthday, so it'll be a nice step up. Shame it wasn't the GP circuit though (even if it is a bit much to ask considering the price) then I would be going back to my 10 year old fantasies

I've just had a thought; do they provide everything I need i.e. helmet, race suit etc?
If they don't then I'm screwed as I have not got the money to blow on a helmet, let alone a race suit.

Not too sure about that one, it isn't mentioned on the website anywhere (not that I noticed). Although I'd imagine that they'd provide them - I did a 'ride along' at Daytona and they provided a full suit/helmet no problem.

Cheers, I would expect them to as well, just wasn't sure because I know at a normal track day you need to have your own gear, so didn't know if it was different for the silverstone organised things.
