I've been to Silverstone Rally School 3 times - it was SO good I kept going back and I would do so again. They use Mk2 Escorts - FAB! 
N.B. This is not the Rally School at Silverstone Circuit (where they used to use some sort of Peugot, not sure what they use now) but Silverstone Rally School, just down the road from the circuit:

I'd recommend going for the full day rather than just half a day.

I had a crack at Shropshire Rally School in a Focus, as my daily driver is a Chavhatch and I wanted to learn skills I could apply to road use. To be honest, I wasn't very good! For my IAM, RoSPA and (brief experience of) track driving, the key is smooth, smooth, smooth, but at the rally school they were expecting sharp inputs to unsettle the car which went against my natural instincts entirely. I was a bit disappointed - first time driving didn't feel 100% comfortable to me. I thik RWD would probably have been better for a day's fun.
I know Oulton Park did days with RWD Escort Cosworths, but my Dad tried one and said he had enjoyed a trip to Shrophsire much better - they were using Mk 2 Escorts and old RWD Celicas back then.

I did a half day with 'Everyman', twas great value, got to go in a (standard) Impreza STI and Group A Mitsi Lancer (which was ridiculously fast), both on a gritty concrete track, plenty of skids and stuff, and also drove a rally prepped 205 and Polo, given lift off oversteer instruction, got VERY VERY sideways, so so so much fun.
May have been better doing it all in an escort, but i liked the variation, and feeling the strengths of different cars - The 205 was so much fun and chuckable, the Lancer was stupidly, stupidly powerful, the Subaru really flattered and was very quick and the Polo was probably the easiest to drive.
Got the back end out on the Subaru as well, was a lot of fun!
Highly recommended, the staff were excellent too, nice small groups and not much waiting.

You probably get 10 - 15 minutes in each car I guess? so about an hours driving in total, although its hard to be objective about the time cos your having so much fun.
They also happened to have another car there on the day that they let you spank about in doing handbreak turns, group C Honda of some description.
I am doing the Taster Day (actually about three hours) tomorrow at http://www.langleyparkrallyschool.co.uk/index.php only trouble is I have a streaming cold and not driven a manual car for about 6 years, should be interesting.

Paid for the missus to do the solo intro at the Siverstone Rally School. She thoroughly enjoyed it.
The pre-car instruction was very informative and the instructor was very friendly. It was a 1 to 1 training session and well worth the money. I would recommend them .
