How lucky was Chris Atkinson?
High speed crash and drives on in the same day as a rookie mistake of leaving the bonnet clip undone and cracking his screen?
It's odd how Petter Solberg has not got a drive yet.
Latvala needs to stop making schoolboy errors or I think he'll lose that drive.
The street stage in Donegal looked great did anyone witness it in the flesh?

The Xsara is a better car than the Subaru. After years battling with a car that's inherently not as good, I'm not surprised he's keen to try the Citroen.
I heard he was desperate to compete in Norway: whether that equates to arranging a full season or simply wanting a swansong in his own country on his terms, that's debatable.

Only thing mildly entertaining is matthew wilson. He really is a poor excuse of a rally driver.
He finished 10mins behind loab. 10 MINUTES! In a works ford!
It doesn't seem to matter who else is competing in the WRC each season Wilson always manages to finish in about 7th or 8th.
There is absolutely no way he would be in that car if daddy wasn't the gaffer, he can obviously drive a WRC car and good luck to him i guess but there must be better out there, he really needs to show some improvement this year IMHO.
Wilkes or Meeke seem like they need a bit of luck to get a seat and it'd be interesting if they got a shot.

he definately has to make a step up in speed this year, ideally in the next round or two, i'd like to see him lead an event, and/ or take a podium. I know he is on a 5 year plan, but this is year 4, his old man reckons it takes 5 years to develop in the wrc, but i think that plan is flawed with Wilson jr, as i think you need to have already 5 years of rallying at a domestic level for that to be true.
i'd like to see autosport et al, put some pressure on him by publicly criticising his performances, he has had long enough now. However his old man needs to allow him to drive flat out, without the need to bring it home for experience. He's done all the rallies now at least once, but in most cases 2 or 3 times. The experience he needs now, is learning what speed he needs to be at to run at the front.... crash a few times, and then demonstrate a pace that allows him to lead and finish. But he has to go over the limit to find it.
he also complains that he doesn't get any testing, but with all the wrc rallies, shakedowns and shakedowns of his team mates cars he undertakes in cumbria he is probably in a wrc car 15 days out of 30. That's a lot more than any other british driver.
however his finishing record is impressive, it must be something like 98 or 99% of the wrc rallies entered.
time is ticking Wilson jr... step up to the plate or let someone else have a go. I think you are good enough and the British public will support you if you deliver..
watched the highlights, have to say, although the competition isnt that great, Loeb is truly in a class of his own. hte car makes the car looked like a hand is pushing it, he just seems to have it all under control, particularly on tarmac and despite the weather!.
as for wilson, he is being shown up by Atkinson, ok, atkinson doesnt finish as often and is still making mistakes, as we saw in Ireland, but pound for pound (so to speak) i think atkinson is quicker and before people start saying "Blah blah its allabout finishing" i dont recall to many people every telling McRae to slow down and consolidate a podium rather than go for first very often
