Albert Park - which grandstand?

Evening all,
First time poster - long time lurker!

I shall be visiting Albert Park for the Australian Grand Prix next month before its likely axing from the F1 calendar

I was wondering if some of the well travelled may be able to offer some advice as to which grandstand should offer the best view?
I flicked through some trusty back issues of F1 racing magazine & they seem to recommend Waite stand as the best corner and Jones stand as the best overtaking spot. Would anybody also recommend either the Senna or Schumacher stands?

Personally I'd go for the Brabham Stand, everything will happen at T1 on lap 1 of the first GP with the new big front wings, plus it's a main overtaking point, cars lose it on the exit (Massa last year) and you can see the cars go two abreast down the following straight to the other main overtaking point of T3.

Looking at yor map the Moss stand looks like a good bet, can see pretty much the whole pit straight.
Also, are you going to the after party, as I hear The Who are playing at it!

Cheers for your help guys, I'm going with FourWheelDrifts suggestion of the first corner but in the Jones stand so I also get the pit straight.

dpbird90 they most certainly are! I've had my tickets upgraded to 'Who are you gold' to be near the front of the gig, really looking forward to this!

Bit of a downside is that Kangaroo TV will not be present at the race, there kit is absolutely brilliant

When I visited in 2003 I chose the Fangio stand immediately facing the start/finish line. The disadvantage is you only see the cars flash past, but for me this was outweighed by the benefits of seeing the dancing girls, the line up of cars, the drivers, and the podium presentation. There was also a big screen to keep us informed of action around the rest of the track.

dont go for the prost or schmacher stands this year. as the race is to start later, you will be looking into the setting sun for the duration of the entire race.

the main straight bacisally runs north south.
id probably go the Wait stand. the sun will be on your back for most of the day, if the sea breez blows in that will be on onto your face.

had the four stand pass last year so did fangio,moss,piquet and schmacher on the final day.

this year ill probably go for the first three days as general admin and then watch from home on race day.
