Le Mans Camping/Tickets

Heading down to Le Mans for the first time this year with a few mates and having had a look at tickets/camping options I've decided I haven't a funking clue.

Can anyone suggest a good ticket/campsite combo (price and location in the circuit)?

Probably best looking at the Le Mans section here for advice. I usually get my tickets throught Team Langoustine, but you'd better book soon, as most options are almost sold out

How far ahead do you need to book these days? Only been once - in 2000 - and I was quite young so my dad sorted everything. Navigating around looking for campsites was tricky, as I recall!

You need to on the ball the week before the previous years event, unless you already know the score with your provider.

I joke not.

That is unless you like having your pants pulled down on Ebay or don't mind being on one of the 'Club 18-30' campsites with 1 dunny per 10,000 and naff all to stop anyone wandering in and having a mooch about your tent.

Wowsers! I never realised it was so busy these days. Have to say, the one time we went was just fantastic. We drove down the day I finished my GCSEs - I couldn't believe I was really there. What an honour to actually be there.

I'm intending on doing Le Mans Classic next year as the cars are more my cup of tea. I think attendance is more like 90,000 compared to 250,000 for the full-fat event. Seeing a 917 through the Porsche Curves in the dark? Priceless.
