BTCC Media day - 19th March

Anyone going? Is it worth a visit?

I'd love to be going as media (plug, plug ) but I'm just happy that they open for the public so I'll be going anyway. Can the public get pitside or can you only go as far as the Paddock - I did read that you can get to meet/talk to the drivers but don't know how much access you can get?

If anyone's going with media access and wouldn't mind an assistant (nudge, nudge) in exchange for photos taken, let me know. (hope there are no penalties for cheek )

I'm not brilliant but I'm sure some will turn out OK. Where's best to snipe at Rockingham, please?

There are good and bad points about media day. If you are not 'media' then don't expect to get in before 1 IIRC. That means you'll only see half a race day's running at most, so it may not be worth taking a day off work or travelling a long distance for it. However, the majority of the field should be testing in the afternoon with the first race two weeks after the event. You can get closer to the action than you could on a race day and it will not be as busy, but I don't know about talking to the drivers. In addition, it's great to see car's running after such a long winter break!

I've been to the last couple of BTCC media days at Rockingham and have had no problems getting into the pitlane. It's fairly low-key in the afternoon and as long as you don't get in the way, nobody seems too bothered by where you are.

I'm only about an hours drive away and I was thinking of leaving work at 12:00 so only half a day off needed. Nice to hear it might not be too busy and that you can get close to the action. Thx

Magic - I take it you didn't go as media? I'll just chance the odd wander thorugh, then. They can only tell me to move on, I suppose. Where's the best places to snipe from, while they're on track?
