Exactly what i've been saying for a while now, get rid of CVC, don't buy them out, take them to court and take it away from the greedy little feckers. The FOTA should then assign a member of staff from each team, or 1 person(not from Ferrari or McLaren) to head the whole thing up. It would make so much more sense, and see more money re-invested into the sport.

I refuse to pay the rediculous entry fees to watch a GP anymore, i mean silverstone want £49 just to see the bloody practice session! I remember 5-6 years ago the practice was around £30, and even a full 3 day ticket was under £100, now they just take the piss, and its all because the circuits get no money from CVC. Make it fair for everyone, spread the money around and keep the sport alive, keep the teams, and keep the circuits we love.

Bernie might point out that a former team owner now runs the sport & another runs the FIA.

The teams should stick to putting cars on the grid with decent drivers in them. They should have a say in how the whole thing is run but they must have checks. If FOTA was given absolute power they would turn into mosley eventually.

What we do not want is another self-serving agency running F1. Whilst I accept the present system is a farce, it came about because just one pressure group had all the authority. Frying pan/fire.

but whereas at the moment, a few powercrazed people own the sport and stupid decisions can get forced through, with FOTA in charge everything will have to be agreed amongst the teams, which has to be better than how it is now (as long as decisions can still be made unanimously or majority when the teams have control of the sport - i guess currently they have a common enemy... what happens when the enemy is each other again!)

No way. F1 is entertainment just like a film or a TV program. Its also an advertising medium for the likes of BMW. In short its a business not really a sport - true motor sport is the clublevel stuff where people put their own hands in their pockets to pay their way.

Dont agree? Just ask yourself how much activity there would be in F1 if the big pay days for the drivers disappeared overnight.

Incidentally, much bike racing is just as commercial and is owned by companies.

One last point. Do you think that thelikes of Renault or Ferrari are interested in fair compatition as opposed to winning in any way possible? Do you think that would be a basis for co-operation?

Exactly. F1 is a business now interrupted by a race every 2 weeks during the summer.........

The teams all had their chance to run the sport in the 70's & 80's. It was all going pear shaped after the FOCA Issues, and Bernie suggested they all cough up a bit of cash to keep it running. They declined, he thought, right "balls to you lot", tied up the deals himself, stuck his own cash on the line to keep it going, and the rest is history...........
