it only slightly annoys me that people would rather film cars crashing into each other than try to warn drivers to slow down due to an icy corner and a car in a ditch. sure its not their responsibility but it must be really annoying for the driver to go off then damage his car and someone elses when a quick cautionary wave from the spectators was all that is needed...

Or even see them waving. I would imagine that when doing 100mph+ down a narrow twisty road you tend to keep your eyes on where you are going rather than on the people that have come to watch you

is there any harm in trying or is it more fun too watch someone throw their pride and joy into another car in a ditch all in the name of having an amusing video?

there is waving in support and there is waving in a blind panic, they tend to spot the latter a little more. I have seen it many times and even if they dont visably slow down they are aware of a potential danger ahead and take precautions.

it just annoys me when people would rather film this crap than actually try to prevent it.

Here Here. Watching some of those guys running over to the cars to get pictures is sick. Accidents are one thing but I have to say that some people do not seem to realise what goes into getting onto a grid.
This is motor racing if they want to watch cars crashing then they should go the the bangers.

Some are paid to film it though.

Of more concern to me than people like the spectator here is those that actively try to cause incidents. Logs manoeuvred on to stages, water poured on clear tarmac in freezing conditions, even once there was a suggestion someone had poured coolant onto a bend on one tarmac stage.
