So the jist of it is a temporary licence has been granted for this weekend due to the tunnel works being incomplete leaving the areas to the side of the track unsafe?
In the unsafe area there is going to be some sort of speed limit or permanent waved yellows?
On the whole circuit there will only be one set of fully functioning bogs up at Hollywood?
Think i'll give it a miss if it's all the same.

The MSA Steward will be assisted by an appointed observer and has been briefed that if appropriate the permit will be removed and the meeting terminated.' "

Borderline farsical.
How many other events are going to be affected by the tunnel in this way. It ain't gonna be a quick fix and I've tickets for the BTCC there in May.
I'm photographing the Trackday there this coming Tuesday. I'll be taking some photos of the construction and asking some questions, that's for sure.
But if anyone knows anything, please let me know.

Apparently the ACU think things are OK but there don't seem to be as many club bike meetings as normal this year.
MSA chap was also reported somewhere as saying the problems were not major.
Would not surprise me if the SPECS camera outfit was negotiating a sponsorship deal and had offered to monitor average speeds through that section.

Well, a pleasant day at Donington today.
The infield is partly accessible using the tunnel from the paddock to get to the inside at Redgate but that's as far as it goes.
All access today was through the Paddock entrance.
The outside of the track is accessible from Redgate Lodge around to McLeans but barriers prevnet any further access pas thr new tunnel work.
The current state of the new tunnel does indeed mean that the runoff areas either side of the track are reduced significantly at the short section where the tunnel passes under the track. Operating under 'waved yellow flag' rules can be disruptive if any of the faster drivers get caught behind slower traffic but mostly today that did not seem to be a problem other than in one race where some of the slower traffic was indeed very slow with the leader starting to lap it after only 3 laps. Perhaps 2 or 3 cars that slow but one had to wonder why they were out there at all. It didn't look like anything to do with classes.
The toilet facilities all seemed to be in their usual state EXCEPT for the unit at Starkey's Bar which was closed and boarded up. Not good had it been the MotoGP but prefectly OK for today's turnout for the MG Car Club.
