Are half the points enough

So it was half the race and half the points, so did the spectators get half of their money back?

My real question, I don't know the rules, but isn't awarding only half of the points an attempt at manipulating the results at the end of the season, other wise why not award all of the points as it makes no difference, unless as will happen' all of the cars will even out and things will become much closer as the season and the cars develop.

So is this a way of stopping Brawn getting to far ahead?

The rules state that full points cannot be awarded if the race has not covered 75% of the full race distance.

In theory they could have just abandoned it and not given any points out.

None of those things really. Just a long standing F1 rule if the race doesnt make 3/4 distance.

Its happened on 4 other occasions apparently last being 1991

I can only think on another abandoned half points race in recent years. 1991 Australian GP abandoned after 14 laps.

I wish they did that at Anglesey on Saturday, they stopped a 20 minute race at 13 minutes and awarded full points, they said by the time the fire truck had got back it would have been more than 75%
