Race Helmet's

I know I've sort of asked before, and most people have said get what ever fits best.
So I'm off to tweeks tomorrow to try some on, but any one have any recommendation, as don't want to try them all on.
Plus my budget is not great.
Is it worth getting hands support, (do you think everyone will have to use soon) don't want to get one then have to get another next year.

if you can afford one, yes. or a helmet that has the fixings for HANS and buy a foam neck brace for now.

That's what I was thinking some are pre-drilled but don't have the fixings as these seem to add £100 to the price.
I already have a Nomex neck brace, Also got a brand new Helmet in a box (got a long time ago), but its past its date SNEL 95

There are 2 standards with helmets.

BS and german Snell. a BS helmet isn't lifed if it is good condition and hasn't been knocked about??

Anyhow. the british std means you don't have to buy a helmet every 5 years??
