G20 Arrive and Drive - Ballpark figure for costs

This is purely out of interest and so that I don't waste anyones time in calling a team.

Approximately how much does a team normally charge for an 'arrive and drive' in a G20? Just a ballpark figure will do just to see if it would be feasible in the future.

I would estimate at around £2000 a race weekend, though you maybe able to negotiate slightly better deals... this usually doesn't include fuel (extra £60) or tyres (extra £450 - though a set will be good for 4-6 races), though some teams will include both fuel and tyres in the deal... hunt around.

Then you have on top of this insurance (for some teams required) and entry fee (£6k for the season, but there is a meeting by meeting cost available from Ginetta - not sure what that figure is)

I have budgeted £22k for the whole season though I haven't raised the full funds through sponsorship yet (Plug alert! )

Best contact is Ginetta themselves (www.ginettacars.co.uk), though they won't know the race schedule until the biggest championship decides it's schedule (eg. Formula One) as they all filter down from those choices. Also it is good to speak to some of the teams as they work closely with Ginetta, there are links to them all on the Ginetta website.

Come on guys, the original subject reads 'Ballpark figure for costs' somebody needs to give a ball park figure

Peter's figures are a good ballpark. Although your budget really does vary upon what you want out of your weekends racing. The lower your budget, the less you can expect a team to supply. Bigger teams may provide everything, from a complete spares package, hospitality, driver coaching and management(completing driver entries etc,) and of course set-up and preparation, whereas smaller teams might only provide mechanical assistance for the weekend. It really does depend on what you want for your money and how much you have to spend.

No calender or even regulations are set for 2010 yet so the costs for next season are hard to predict.
