Despite all the other events last weekend the most disturbing for me was Bernies intervieu with EJ,Cringing it may have been,But it became clear that He and Max are firm bosum buddies again.Do not ever think that these two guys are mugs or lack courage.If you have followed F1 as long as i have you would know they are two extremely clever and more to the point street fighters of the highest order. Over the last winter both their futures in the sport were being challenged from all angles. Max was still under a cloud from his NOTW episode and Bernie had gone through a very exspensive divorce but over shadowing this by far was the new found unity in FOCA.
In the past by having Ferrari on a different agenda all the other teams could be made to toe the line,But Luca threw a spanner in the works and FOCA became united
FOCA was putting pressure for greater revenue from Bernie and even had the cheek to blackball the Medals idea.
But lets be clear some teams are far stronger in FOCA than others,The are Ferrari,Renault,Bmw,Toyota and McMercedes for they are the engine suppliers.
So over the Winter we have the threat of a single engine,Knowing full well that none of the above would suffer this,Then we have the matter of KERS,Either all the teams should have it or none. And the the final nail in the coffin,DIFFUSERS.
By failing to sort the these out well before the start of the season yet another wedge is drivin into FOCA
So here we are Two races in not knowing what is legal and what results stand.Thats without all the uproar over the yellow flag incident thats got out of hand by a long way,But still another wedge to the unity.
Even on this Forum people have been at one anothers throats as to the wrongs and rights of some of the above to a quite aggresive degree.
At the end of the day i hope above all else we are all motor racing fans who want the best for our sport, Where as i think the powers that run it would not care if some of the above teams folded as long as they have a full grid of cars even powered by the same engine and just as long as they do what they are told.

How silly of me to mix the two up,Bernie was the head of FOCA back in 78 when they were at odds with the FIA and Balestere who was the main man .
Lucky for Bernie he had a very astute right hand man ,who was his main legal advisor as well . Must have come good for them for shortly after Bernie had the TV rights and the legal advisor was the head of the FIA.
As i said at the start of the posting two very clever gutsy guys who will never back down.
