At the risk of sounding callous, why wouldn't it go ahead ?We're simply living in different times. 1994 was a pretty crappy season with two deaths and some other major crashes (Rubens and Karl Wendlinger at Monaco). HANS hadn't yet been invented and the drivers were pretty exposed to head and neck injuries.
But go back a further 20 years still, and motor racing was even more dangerous. People accepted the risk as being part of the sport, and it was only action from the likes of Jackie Stewart that attitudes started to change in the 70's.
For better or worse, we're simply much more risk averse in today's world, which I guess is what triggered your comment about whether they would go ahead with the race today.

Have you ever attended a race meeting?Next time you do, look at the back of your ticket where it clearly states that Motorsport is dangerous!
People die in hospitals and on the road everyday, we don't stop going to hospitals or travel on roads do we, so why should a race meeting stop?

Also when I re-watched the 1991 Australian GP it looked a bit shocking seeing the marshalls happy to jump onto the race track despite the wet conditions and yellow flags waving. No way would that happen today!

Furthermore, it was a question, I wasn't suggesting it should be (other than it is Italian law).....calm down!
My last question still stands however, do you think a race would still go ahead today if someone died on the practice or in quali'? I'm talking F1 more than motorsports not so much in the limelight.

The only question in my mind would be if there were an incident such as Kubica's which the driver didn't survive. Less than half distance would have been covered and my opinion (as someone who is in the line of fire almost every weekend) is that it would be wrong for them not to restart the race if red flagged.
Blunt I know but even with experiences I would not wish on others my attitude has, and always will be, when I sign on I’m saying please clear up the squishy bits if I get in the way and carry on.
