I did hear a rumour that at least one of the teams tested a double design as early as last year but did not want to rock the FIA boat. Not naming names but suffice to say if they were running it now the hearing would probably have gone the other way

and suit's McLaren fine as they have been working on one for a few weeks anyway. as have most other teams i'm sure.

am i the only one that thinks this was the incorrect decision? ok the diffusers were passed as legal for the first two races and the results should stand. but imo the FIA should have said ok you found a loophole well done, and then closed it.

all that's going to happen now is that every other team is going to commit a massive chunk of money to underfloor development and F1 turns into an insanely expensive aero race again - i thought it was trying to get away from that? and what if the increased turbulence has an increased effect on the following car, the thing that the regulations sought to avoid? teams spend more money, racing gets worse.

I guess all the other teams will have been working on their own versions since seeing the Brawn's first test in March, but how many will have them fitted by this weekend?

Will they need to do another crash test as it will change the impact structure at the rear?

Glad to hear aswell, nice to see the smaller teams get one of the big boys. To me, they have look at the rules and thought "Well, we can do it this way, it does not say we cant, it will give us 15% more grip lets do it"
