Yes, thoroughly enjoyable day. We were there spectating, and it was good to see some close racing
Shame about the 1st race, although i suppose it is expected to see smoke/flying fiberglass/spinning cars etc at the start of a Tuscan race
There is just something very special hearing those race Tuscans going past at full chat.Am looking forward to the next meet. Hopefully there will be a few more on the starting grid.

I am glad you enjoyed the days racing, but please do spare a thought for the drivers involved in the 1st race incident. A lot of cars sustained some very serious and expensive damage which now all has to be repaired by club racers from their own pockets. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt though I suspect some drivers will be very sore this morning.

The crash occurred something like 5 seconds after the start of the race. The impact speeds attained would have been of the order of 80 - 90MPH. The force of the impact actually sheared the belt harness attachment on 1 car.

It is most definitely not the order of the day to see spinning cars and fibreglass at the start of a Tuscan challenge race where the standard of driving is very high.

Dan drove a very good second race to take the overall win. Mark Hockin drove in his usual faultless manner especilly at the start taking the lead off the line. some pics posted really do show how hard mark was pushing and how much of a difference the aero makes on a class A car.

Tom ran very well in cass B after fixing the car for the second race and took class B honours with some very square wheels.

Back in Class C was some really good racing with John and Dave Swapping places before Daves car suffering rear suspension failure.

Lets hope everyone feels much better after a nights sleep and we can get a full grid together for Rockingham.

Some long nights are ahead of a number of drivers to get ready for 2 weeks time.

It looks like my busted turbo may have saved me a lot of time and money, albeit a very expensive 2.5 laps. I had to leave early to start the problem solving exercise for Rockingham as I am back to work early Tuesday until 1st May so am on a tight schedule.
What exactly happened Neil. Did someone bog down on the start or was it a cold tyre fishtail job.
Glad to see no-one was injured but there will be some bruised wallets by the looks of things.
Hope they are all out at Rockingham.

Looks like I could have done ok, as was getting 2:08 in my old A3 daily drive, when I did a Trackday there in Feb.

Shame Christina was involved in the accident as she put in a very good time, esp if she still has the 3ltr.

On a side not anyone know why she's now in class B

BRSCC typo, was actually in C. nice looking 3ltr essex v6 in there... sadly chassis not in quite such good condition now :-(

It's a shame anyone was involved in the accident, Chistina was very much a passenger with no option to avoid.

Her car is probably 3065cc so class C legal and her qualifying time was very impressive given the cold track in the morning. Her car was built for the HSCC 70s roadsports series where among other strict regs, the engines are restricted to +40 thou over bore. Sadly it looks like her season is over unless she can find the odd 15-20K it will probably take to rebuild it.

Ouch that such a shame, as was nice to have range of cars in the series. did not think it done that much damage. but can work out expensive esp. if your not doing the work yourself. we worked if we paid someone else to do all the work our car and even if we paid 1/2 price for labour, it would have been about 30k for labour, plus the 8k in parts.

Was not questioning her legal status, just wondered why she was listed as B, as she was in C last year, but looks like it was a typo.

I do hope you get it sorted and come back.

No that's fine.
Did not look as bad as that in the photo's I saw. will be expensive if it does need a new chassis and front end. I know how long it takes and I did not swap chassis, just body off and some repairs.

I'm sure they could do the body off themselves, do I what I did, and just unbolt everything, then arrange for a lot of friends to come over and all lift it off.

The more they can get done themselves the cheaper its going to be. not sure where they are based but I'm sure most of us would help, or help with advice. most stuff it not that complex.
