What Did Everyone Think Of Rockingham?

This was my 1st visit to Rockingham - thought it was a pretty good venue. It was a bit of a squeeze to get your car in & out of the garage when the cars from the previous race were lined up for 'park ferme' but apart from that not too bad.

Thought it was excellent all round, very enjoyable weekend.
We could do with some of the classes being sorted out as there does appear to be some fairly major power differences, but that will no doubt resolve itself as we progress.
We would like to add a special thank you to Woody for presenting us with four hand made and prepared exact model replicas of our car, quite superb, must of taken him many hours to put together in such detail, Woody, these now have pride of place in our trophy cabinet, thanks mate, they really are the best prize we have celebrating our 2008 achievements

So you are all aware, 'every car was checked', some were found after qual to have moved their HP's from were they should be, but after some gentle help, they re-aligned themselves, and were found to be correct after the race. Some cars were weighed and we found no problems there. Rockingham showed itself to be quite a technical circuit, which did favour the lower gravity cars. Generally every effort as you are aware is being done to make our races as equal as we can. It does not matter what you do you cannot stop two very good drivers in the right car from winning the class or the race.

I thought it was absolutely awesome....its a while since I have been to Rockingham and the circuit has changed a little, but it is such a professionally turned out place(despite the walk from the outer paddock!)
I also loved the spirit in the paddock, with everyone together in the open plan garages. I made a few new friends with the other team members slaving away on the cars in the evenings....and with the Dutch Supercar guys who were also very friendly and open to talk to everyone.
Its rare at this level of racing to get such friendly people.
I would also like to thank the team who recovered my brothers helmet from the pitwall when he left it there after the saturday race. I went back at about 9:30pm expecting it to have vanished, but it was sitting safe as sound on someones pit garage table. I am not sure which team it was, but thanks so much for that, on our budget buying a new helmet and radio set is a big big deal!!!

Did you exclude the cars who were cheating from their qualifying results ?
Where can I buy one of these variable bhp volume knobs. I`ve searched the Demon Tweeks catalogue from cover to cover
I`m not convinced you can just turn the power up and down to suit although if you start with 500bhp I suppose you could always wind it back to 350. The danger is that the screw keep coming undone. Better to assume it will be using it`s full potential and place it accordingly.
Anyway we`ve been down here before........
Great spectator viewing at Rockingham although you s
t your pants a bit at the top of the grandstand. It`s high, and steep !!As ever keep smiling and enjoy the racing. I`m worried we might have caught something off Team Mexico at Brands this weekend. If I start growing a curly tail to go with the Porker........

That's who the helmet belonged to. As I put it on our table I thought it was a little damp! Only available to F1 teams, and a closely guarded secret as it's remote control, mind you, sometimes the radio link plays up, causing the car to falter in exactly the same place on the track for a couple of laps as it tries to download instructions. However, being pre prepared, a wise competitor will use a fine grade chaff, made up of carefully cut strips of used Red Bull cans, (cos it's got wings), that is then ejected through a countermeasure unit. Given time,this will do the trick as the three tries and out rule will close down the signal receptors and the system will corrupt and throw up a DNF. Henry
Rod - sorry I didn't manage to catch up with you guys again on Sunday. I needed to make a swift getaway after the races, so thought I'd get the car and kit packed away good and early, watch the races and then bugger off.
A high pressure hydraulic hose split on the tail lift with the car 18" off the ground. After a number of typically TVR stylee work arounds I admitted defeat and called in Andrew Jordan's sponsors, Pirtek, to come and replace the hose. All in all it was a bit inconvenient (and expensive), but could have been far far worse if it had happened at Spa for example..... but I managed to miss most of the afternoon's racing, and just caught the last TVR race.

I still prefer the oval, but that takes a different kind of nut!
Secret Lemonade, if you think the Aussie V8 sounded good around there - they have a fleet of them at The Racing School if you fancy a go yourself. And imagine what it was like with 20+ ASCAR's thundering around the oval.....
