That is twice this year, in just 5 races, that Ferrari have totally screwed up their qualifying with a schooboy error.
Lauda, who drove for Ferrari, calls it "Spaghetti Culture".
Plus we all know that Ferrari had their best years with very few Italians in key positions.
The winning culture of Luca and the massive investment of Philip Morris mean that what is happening now will not be acceptable.
So how long has Stefano got?

Isn't this typical of most teams (whether F1 or football) that they will not blame a driver/player publicly in case they destroy their confidence and make them feel unwanted?

I like Kimi but he hasn't shown much dedication since he won the championship and does appear to be disinterested despite the salary he is receiving. For all his faults Massa now appears to be the more committed driver at Ferrari.

There can be little argument that the call was Kimi's. A driver of his experience would not leave such an important decision to the team.

Stefano Domi was brought in to Italianise the team. Everyone said it was pretty pointless in such an international competition but you've got to say it is more or less pointless.

Ferrari has shown itself willing to blame an individual for corporate failures, although of course, any win is down to the team.

I would suggest that Kimi might be a bit frustrated by the lack of direction from the team.

Whether Stefano is going to be the fall-guy, well I'm not so sure. With Massa doing the business then I think he'd have an arugment on his side but when has logic ever been the most important factor for Ferrari?

KR has to be accountable, as well as the team. Facts are his lap was 0.8 down on Massa at the end of Q1 - surely someone must have thought, best we have another run chaps?!!

from the bbc programme, it seems the engineers compare all of the other driver's 2nd laps, work out how much they've improved by on average, estimate how much everyone else will improve by and calculate whether kimi needs to go out again. they thought he'd be ok. If they told kimi that, why wouldn't he believe them?

Well we have had a season and a bit since Stefano (and all the Italians) took over and in that time we have had more cock ups than in the previous decade. Not to mention a decline in the competetiveness of the car.
