I want Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, RedBull, BMW and Toyota to all quit in 2010 so Mosley would get ousted from his post. F1 might might need a couple of years of failure for things to get better.
If the lesser teams get in on the £40 million budget cap, it's not really F1 with the innovation is it? They'll be having races to see which cars can go slowest.

Not only does Mosley not "need" the manufacturers, he doesn't want them either. It's so much easier to push around independents whose only business is racing, whose funding is marginal, and who thus are completely dependent on the grace of the regulator. Do you think that Frank Williams has been supportive of the FIA in the last few years merely out of philosophical principle?
Regardless of whether Mosley needs the manufacturers, Bernie and CVC clearly need them, and most fans want them.

most have based they finances on oil at $70+ a barrel, and it's not been there for some time (Saudis work on ~$50), combine that with a total lack of demand for oil, and you have several very broke arab nations....

Max was on the radio tonight saying that there's no rush for the introduction of the budget cap. We are looking at Melbourne next year not Monaco next week etc etc.
TBH that wouldn't exactly inspire confidence if i was one of the leaders of the various interested parties that has put there name forward as wanting to be involved in the circus as a result of the proposed budget cap.
To stand a chance of building a team, designing a car etc etc for 2010 these new teams need to know that the rules are in place and agreed now (i assume), not in 6 to 9 months time.
Based on max's comments i would be suprised to see any of these new teams on the grid next year.
