HillClimb Issues

Unsure if there is anyway around this but thought i would ask.
I currently have a national B license, im looking to do my first event etc, a few places have no issues taking me on driving schools for hill climbs etc which is great, the problem however is the car i want to use.
I have a 350z, stripped, all FIA safety equipment in there, roll cage/seat/harness/fire extinguisher/cut offs etc, but i have received a note saying i cant use anything over 2litres for my first events... I cant afford to buy another car and i have extensive experience in driving this one on track, i appreciate it wont be 'that' competitive compared to others in class as the size of engine V weight but just wanted to get involved and do some marshalling etc...
any suggestions?

Not entirely a flippant comment. AFAIK when cars were used for record breaking in several classes, didn't the owners use this rumble to effect a quick change in capacity?
I realise it won't do much for the feel of your car, but if it will get you through the first event = reduced capacity it might be worth considering.

You could use the Aygo without any problems (on the licence front anyway, not sure about domestically) - it would meet regs for the appropriate class.Which venue has turned you down?

A note from whom? And how do they know it's your first event? I've never been asked that ...I ask this because you need a Nat A Open licence to compete in a sports libre or racing car over two litres (exception for cars licensed for the highway and competing in a road legal condition) but other than that as far as the MSA is concerned you can run what you like on a Nat B licence.

You need to check the rules to see if your car falls into the road modified class, make sure you check the tyres too as these can make a difference.Quote

I would read that as referring, specifically, to proper racing cars rather than your 350Z.Quote

Depends on the regs and classification, because it's all stripped out it may not be classed as a road car, it may fall into road libre . . . you need to check with a eligibility scrutineer, the club will be able to put you in touch with one . . . mean while the wifes car will comply as a road car, and as such I couldn't believe it wouldn't be eligable . . .

If you summarise the rules then 'Racing Car' means single seater. If you've changed the engine block - ie dropped-in a V8 - or fundamentally altered the suspension/drive train layout - ie converted it to 4wd - then the 350 would be classed as 'Sports Libre', but it would never be a 'Racing Car'.
From the sounds of it it's what would have been classed as a 'Modified Production Car' under the old arrangement, and would now be 'Modified Specialist Production' or something like that.
I don;t keep the blue Book in the office, but I'm not aware of anyone being required to stay below 2 litres as a novice in a production car class.

Thank you all for the comments, that has at least filled me with some hope.
ill see if i can get on the phone with a club somewhere affiliated with a hillclimb event and see if i can 'borrow' a scrutineer temporarily...
As much as i dont mind going up in a 1 litre bright red aygo it would be dangerous doing that with a paper bag over my helmet, i would prefer to use the 350...

if its road legal and fits into ModProd then cant see a problem on Nat B. If the cars is Sports Libre class, you have entered Sports Libre or the organisers have assumed its sports libre, than a Nat A open is required which needs signatures on your licence (which you can only get by competing).
look in the blue book for a scrutineer near your home and arrange to pop the car round for them to give the once over and their advice.
