The safety car has been called into action a number of times already during this season’s Formula One championship, and on a few occasions its deployment has indirectly helped decide the winner of the race. In WTCC, however, it seems the safety car takes a more active role.

Oh, that BMW team owner seemed to be on the war path. Blimey, that looks like stock cars rather than touring cars.

Usually when leaving the pits you don't pull straight out on track for good reason, he should have got up to speed and not crossed the White line on pit exit.....very naughty.

given the speed differential after a blind corner, what the hell was the safety car doing going so slow?

I drove a Lacetti the other day. Rubbish car. It was a collegues of mine, and I was told to move it out of the yard and park in the driveway. Went to back it into said driveway, only be stuck in the middle of the road trying to slot reverse. Ended up driving around the block so I could drive forwards into a parking spot. Turns out you have to pull up on a little ring under the gearknob to engage reverse.

But who is to blame? We were talking about this yesterday. I reckon it's got to be the race director who says when to release the safety car....But then again as already mentioned, he shouldn't have crossed the white line.
Then again, the track was on full yellows and they hadn't seemed to slow down that much.......

Ive never encountered it before. From the gearshift pattern I thought it was a VW/BMW style push down and across movement.

Almost full course waved yellows (Be prepared to stop) and the leader hasn't lifted! Safety car's positioning was more than questionable, but if the leader hadn't been at 100% he might have given himself chance of avoiding the accident.

These guys are allegedly the cream of tin top racing

I've seen the zero car rolled out of a rally right in front of a main spectator point, but this deserves full stupidity credits as well.
