Who will be the new drivers in F1?

With 3 new teams joining the circus, and assuming no teams leaving it, does anyone know who the 6 new drivers will be? New faces or old ones (Villeneuve for example after last the race invterview?)

Depends on how many teams end up competing.

If the big names don't sign up, then the current crop of drivers will need race seats somewhere. I'm sure the privateer teams will be happy to supply them (pending, I suppose, sponsorship money).

If the big names sign up and three new entrants come in, then there are quite a number of drivers who could be on the market. JV, for one, as well as Luizzi, Grosjean, di Resta, Hulkenberg, Pantano, and so on (oh wait, that makes six drivers!).

Simple answer - the ones with the most cash. Since the £40m cap does not include salaries any driver that pays for his seat will be preferred over the ones that use up some of the teams' money.

Probably being stupid (i normaly am )but if the salary is not in the cap does that not mean they can pay as much as they want?

Although a paying driver will be needed by some teams I dont see that it will be any advantage employing a pay driver if they can raise the £40mil to run the car + the drivers sallary.

The budget cap could posibly see drivers wages increase as it will be one area where a performance advantage can be gained outside of the cost cap. I wonder mow much Alonsos 0.2 seconds a lap will be worth next year

I can see Sato making a return as he has always been better at getting sponsorship than driving

Grosjean will be in Renault nubmer 2 next year, but I still can't see even the most cash strapped new team choosing to give a seat to Nelson Piquet, unless he wins a few races next year it's fair to say I have a better chance of getting an F1 seat next year
