Does Bernie have to use the FIA?

He has to provide the circuits/TV people with cars but does he have to provide an FIA approved series?

I ask 'cos I reckon he could run a series called GP1 that's miles away from the FIA, includes all the top teams ('cos he has contracts with all of them) & stick to his commitment to CVC.

That would leave the FIA with F1(-lite) & no TV deals.

I would have thought that Bernie would have stacked the clauses in his favour anyway.

Bernoie has the rights but is he obliged to use them? I have the right to ramble through some people's fields in the UK. Doesn't mean I'm obliged to do it.

He wouldn't be, but there might be a non-compete clause.
Regardless, the contract is for a fixed amount, which FOG will be obliged to pay regardless of whether they run races. If FOG were to go bust, and default on its future financial obligations to the FIA, as a result of having abetted the setting up of a competing series, there could possibly be scope for an action.
