FOTA Circuits

Right; FOTA already have a list in a little black notebook according to David Croft, but lets try to put together our own.

Basic criteria
A)Prince Albert has already said that Monaco will be available to Ferrari for 2010
B)The circuit must not be bound to FIA for 2010
C)Fallings out with Max or Bernie are preferable
D)Must have recently hosted a proper race to ensure the facilities are in place for 2010
E)The current MotoGp commercial rights holder may well run the series, so MotoGP tracks are likely venues.

2)Silverstone

The circuits don't have to be none F1 event holders IMHO, in Europe at least as that would cause legal issues with restriction of trade.

I don't think there is a restriction of trade, (Marks and Spencer sign sole trade agreements with suppliers) companies are free to negotiate terms of trade, between themselves and and these can be exclusive, in fact if you supply a FOTA member then as I understand it you can not supply to another, so they will have a major problem claiming that excusive agreemnts are legal in their supply chain but not in the curcuits. In fact I thought that it was a condition of holding an FI that the curcuit would only host FIA FIM sactioned events.

Looked amazing for the GT racing, would be great to see some high down-force single-seaters on the circuit.

Many of the above mentioned, but I'd love to see a Canadian GP at any of Montreal, Mosport or a Toronto street circuit.

Any will do, really. Mosport's pits would need a bit of work, but would be fun.

I just hope they come up to the great white north!

It would be spectacular, but most unlikely. The track already hosts a 1000km race, and is only a temporary street circuit. Although the local folk are quite good about motorsport, I doubt they'd be too impressed with the amount of disruption that two large motorsport events would cause them.

Even more to the point, the track is very bumpy and the lack of run-off and visibility will be a serious safety issue.

Phillip Island or Eastern Creek are much more likely venues. Phillip Island already hosts the MotoGP, it's beautiful track with great facilities.

Other tracks I'd like to see:

Zandvoort (Netherlands) - classic track, lots of character.
Road America (USA) - I would have said Watkins Glen, but Road America has much better facilities.
Imola (Italy) - recently renovated facilities, experienced in hosting F1.
Mont Tremblant (Canada) - nice "old school" track, but facilities and access could be a problem.
EuroSpeedway Lausitz GP (Germany) - modern and safe.
Fuji Speedway (Japan) - recent F1 host, reasonably good racing.

and F1 round Macau??? it is mad enough with Touring Cars!

Silverstone has to be the British GP - but wouldn't say no to another!

USA East - Watkins Glen
USA West - Longbeach
USA for the hell of it - Indy

Mexico - Mexico City

Hasn't Portimão in Portugal just been kitted out to F1 spec? It's been awesome for the superbikes.

I can see a race back in Portugal, Canada, USA should get two races, germany, Italy, France, Spain, UK, South Africa, Australia, Germany, Monaco, and before too long the FIA will be back because their series will fail.

Bernie makes money off of trackside advertising, Paddock Club hospitality (down 60% at some tracks in 2009), and TV revenue. Advertisers won't pay if the top teams don't race, TV companies will have a break clause if sensible and corporate hospitality will go where the best teams are racing.

Bernie's partners at CVC and their investors must be a little worried with what they are reading today in the media.

BH - great circuit but too small for modern F1.
