Silverstone GP camping - be careful!

If you're camping at Silverstone this weekend then be careful with your belongings. There was a spate of thefts on the Marshals' campsite last night, it was very Le Mans style with thieves entering tents and caravans overnight whilst the occupants slept and stole wallets etc.
They may well move onto another site tonight rather than revisit the same one so if you've up here tonight or Saturday night then be careful - lock all valuables out of sight in your car and keep the keys close to you.
There are always some problems but there seem to have been many more than usual last night.
Other than that, the sun is shining although there are also quite a lot of clouds. It's pretty chilly in the wind and it was bleeding freezing last night so bring lots of bedding!

One of my brothers' friends girlfriend had her Blueberry stolen while they were asleep in a camper. My brother and his wife were also asleep, when they heard someone try their doorhandle FFS!
Hope this happens to no-one. Leave absolutely nothing on show. You'd think being a great sporting event these people wouldn't even turn up, but it must be the latest trend for them.

2 years ago, i had my union jack flag pinched that was staked outside my tent.
OK it wasn't worth anything, but i had that flag with me on rally GB for years, during the great McCrae v Burns era.
Then last year my mate and his Dad had money stolen from their tent whilst asleep, and not content with that, the pikey scum, took their cooler box outside, tipped out all their food and crapped in it
Where do these morons come from ?????

I had my tent pinched on the Sunday during the race some years ago. Returned after it to find it gone. What was irritating was that I thought I'd gone to the wrong field or the wrong part, and it wasn't until I found the tent pegs in the little square that I realised what had happened. And it was a decent quality Vango, new that year. (So if anyone see an orange Vango ridge tent, please let me know.)
Several years ago my wife and I were camping in Dorset for the weekend. We both had some pretty decent new mountain bikes which were individually locked and then chained together onto the chassis of the trailer I'd taken with me. Was a spate of stuff being nicked from the paddock at Oulton last year. It was only a club meeting, but laptops and phones went walkies. They know if you are a FF1600 race team and the race is underway, everything left is up for grabs. Absolute scum de la scum
