Never having been to this circuit any good advice from well travelled PHers on a good B&B within a 10-15 mile radius or a decent campsite.
Looking at heading over on the ferry late friday night to get there for qualifying and race day.
I have been warned to take waterproofs

I had a quick look at tickets - seems fairly expensive? - Similar pricing to Silverstone?

We're considering this as a late Summer Le Mans replica. Anyone been and know what the campsites are like for atmosphere. We take a motorhome to LM and stay at Houx so we'd be after semi-rowdy and an electric hook up.

Can get non-grandstand tickets for £150 or so for the weekend - also after an idea of how good a view we'll get and how busy it will be. Again, used to LM where it doesn't matter that it's packed at start and finish because you've got 22 other hours to get a look.

Crowded.

Eau rouge camp site, about 1.5 - 2M walk to the circuit, pretty good atmosphere, food was naff, but you can take your own in a MH, they did have electric hook up, but a bit hit and miss.

Not sure wheres best to camp etc, but personally I'd try and get there Friday and have a good look around, you'll also see more action with free practice.

The circuit unfortunately put up additional 'screening' around certain areas to stop you getting a 'better view than you've paid for' too - So its worth having a long trek round on Friday and deciding on a couple of places you might like to watch the race from.

Take wet weather gear YES, but take sun cream too - Fatal mistake I made a couple of years ago - Got burnt to a crisp in some shockingly marvellous weather!!!

Its a great circuit, and stunning to see the gradient changes etc in real life. Its always said, but you really cannot believe how steep Eau Rouge is until you stand next to it (or try and walk up it after the race).

Another tip if you havent been there before - Dont expect a 'victory lap' once they pass the finish line they come round the hairpin and into the back of the pits.

You wont regret going - fantastic circuit (even if it is a little pricey)!

Re: the weather. If you don't like the weather at Spa, wait five minutes. I lost count how often I had to put waterproofs on and off.

I have comfy shoes, you'll walking a lot.
