Moto GP at Silverstone

Whilst at the F1 Silverstone Grand Prix this weekend, several of the Silverstone staff were saying that Moto Gp will be at Silverstone in 2010.

Anyone else heard this? Does it mean that Donnington will miss out in 2010?

It's been known for about a year now. Donington lost the MotoGP at about the same time it won the F1 GP rights. Silverstone were there to grab them when they were up for renewal.

However, I thought Silverstone had plans to alter the circuit layout for the MotoGP, not sure whether that's still going ahead though?

There was something on the screens at silverstone about an altered layout for the Moto Gp's, but I didnt catch it fully.

I think the plan is run the GP circuit up to Abbey, then go the wrong way up the International Straight to join up with the start of the Club Straight, rejoining the GP track at Brooklands.

I booked my Silverstone MotoGP tickets on Monday for next year. The dates are still provisional at the moment but Silverstone are taking bookings now. The cost is a lot more reasonable than the BGP. I've booked 3 day pit straight grandstand tickets for 114 quid including the handling and delivery fee. It cost 240 quid for the same tickets for the BGP.

Yes the BGP is very pricey which put me off going this year. I didn't fancy paying £100 just for GA on Sunday. "Would Sir like a seat too? Cough up then!"

I'd also been to Le Mans the weekend before - so couldn't really afford to go to both. LM is IMHO better value.

The costs for the MotoGP at Silverstone are comparable with those at Donington when you take into account stands etc (GA £60, Redgate Stand for Sat and Sun £40). Having said that - the facilities at Silverstone are miles ahead of Donington.

I quite like the new layout - although I would have liked to see them go through Bridge.
