Grandstand seats are extra, but it isn't an expensive event compared to other countries. I'd say pit straight seats are the best. The whole event is well organised, good value and quality food and drink, easy parking, easy to get a meal in restaurants and bars just outside the "circuit".
Only downer is that hotel rooms are very pricey for the GP weekend - about 5 times as much as they usually are.
I'd recommend it unreservedly - the atmosphere is incredible.

I went last year and it was fantastic.
My ticket was in the 'Bay' grandstand. This was one huge stand but thankfully we were three rows from the front and right above the tunnel.
We had a number of problems though, the main being that as soon as the cars came round people from further back came rushing forward and blocked our view.
We made strong representations to the organisers and come race day they seemed to have this sorted.
The beauty with the night race meant that we had most of the day to wonder freely within the circuit (except the main start finish area)have a few drinks and just chill out.

Thanks, already have flights and hotels booked. To those that have been, what is the trackside access like? I'm not to keen on parking myself on the same seat for three days, much prefer to get a few different vantage points through the practice/quali/race sessions.
Also, does anyone know where the after-race parties are being held?

Trackside access is very good, we moved around a fair bit during our three days.
All the support races form up under the Bay Grandstand so you can get really close to the cars and driver's there. I was talking to Herbie Blasch (sp?) for about five minutes prior to the Asia Carrera Cup cars going out. He was a great bloke, talking frankly about hopes and expectations for the race.
We gained access by the Stamford Stand and spent hours wondering about (and drinking!)
I can't remember where the teams held their parties, other than Ferrari who had theirs at The Marina, which is a bit out of town. It was two minutes walk from where i was staying.

Ah but they're worth it, there's something about watching the safety cars having a hoon from your hotel window before you saunter down to take your seat in the grandstand to watch the race.I'd recommend it unreservedly - the atmosphere is incredible.
