Good, but needs refining.

1950 - 2010 is a nice round figure of 60 years.

Call it 3 races per year.

Each at a different track.

I've got to nominate Spa 98, I know it's not about the crashes but that was some race and Damon's Jordan win wasn't too bad either.

+1 for '53 Reims, Hawthorn and Fangio crossed the start/finish line side by side 10 times apparently, for Hawthorn to get his first win. It was a breathless flat out race with half a dozen battling away together most of the time. I've never seen any footage though.

Single races don't make an entire season.

I would suggest 1982 as the most exciting (if not perfrect - for the obvious reason that there were two fatalities and other serious accidents).
