I don't think Brawn have much momentum to carry on, if I'm honest.
But back to the matter at hand. The way I see it, Brawn have gotten where they are because of the £300 million budget from Honda. Branson has already stated that Brawn are too expensive to sponsor, which leaves them without a major sponsor, without a billionaire backer, and without manufacturer support for 2010. Ferrari and McLaren, on the other hand, will most likely begin development for next year in the next few weeks, with a seemingly infinite budget. I reckon that normality will resume next year, with McLaren and Ferrari once more leading the chase.
I could go into further detail explaining who, out of those two, I would choose, but it would all revolve around Alonso moving to Ferrari, and quite frankly, that's an entirely different topic in itself!

the lats 2 races have merely been a result of development cycles overlapping, brawn are due a major upgrade for hungary and ross has also stated that work has already started on ther 2010 car.
honda didnt spend 300m on that car either, your so far of the mark its untrue, and as for brawns budget for next season, that was part of the pay of from honda, an agreed sum for the 09/10 seasons, and as ross has already said, it was there choice not to carry on with virgin and they do have other backers waiting in the wings, the only thing i agree with is the fact that mclaren back towards the front, however i cant see a lot of stability at fezzaland at the minute, and if fred goes there, even less, my money would actually go on alonso at brawn next year alongside someone (maybe ant d) and ruben in the bin and jens to mclaren alongside lewis, especially given the fact its highly likely that he will have the no1 plate.
a slight googly in all the plans could be the rumours that mclaren are very very interested in prising vettel away from RB.

It's also the worst kept secret in F1 that Alonso's ever-changing helmet will be seen from deep inside the scarlet cockpit next year, and many people are saying that Maranello are just waiting for Monza to reveal all. Another issue would be pay. I highly doubt Brawn would be able to support Fernando's wages. Ferrari, on the other hand, getting rid of the $50 million man will have enough for the Spaniards salary, even after paying him off.
I reckon Rosberg will be off to McLaren to replace Heikki, with Rubens moving over to fill his seat at Williams. Frank's apparently a huge fan of the Brazilian, even if he wasn't impressed with his post-race rant. As for Brawn, Davidson's a good shout, and he'd be willing to support Button's title charge. Another prospect is Senna - he was rumoured to be in line for the Honda drive last Autumn - but whether or not Ross would be keen on fielding a rookie remains to be seen.

Toyota have proven that the size of your budget matters not one iota if you don't have the right people in place. Brawn do - that car is a work of art - every single little piece of it works in harmony with the rest.
Branson is well know for "investing" on his terms. Read his biography if you want to understand his modus operandi...why do you think Manor is going to be (I'd bet my house on 49%) owned by Virgin?...
Good for Branson and Brawn to be able to strike a deal on good terms for both this season, but Ross is a bright cookie - he even has a Ford & David Richards trained CEO in the gurning fool to "do" the commercials...and for sure, to coin a phrase, they know the rate card value of their team next year will be big...
...one thing you are correct on is that Honda's money allows thenm the "luxury" of not having to take just anyone's coin this season...
...oh and one other thing you are correct on is that Alonso is moving to Ferrari next year...but that is pretty much common knowledge, isn't it?
Quite simply you go to any team that will pay you! Worldwide under 150 drivers get paid to drive cars, many more bring sponsors into motorsport and even in F1 there are a number of drivers who are getting no salary.
Obviously a factory backed team is the place you want to be and in 2010 Mercedes engines will probably dominate the grid. BMW have lost their way and I believe may be one of the teams to move on....sportscars anybody!
Toyota and Renault are now fighting for slots in Q3.
Ferrari will be back but with which driver who knows.
Williams will take anybody with cash or stick with Bernie.
Force India may well become a McLarenjunior team in all but name.
RBR will get Mercedes power and Vettel will I am sure have an option to get a Mercedes team drive in 2011.
Brawn are the unknown team. jensen is doing a great job and with warmer circuits that car will come back to the front row....Budapest and the end of season races most certainly.
Rubens is just annoyed that his 'mojo' is not dancing right now when Webbers is. 123 races for your first win, makes Mansell, Button and Hakkinnen's streaks look easy.
If I was Rubens I would go where the money is next year, if he is even offered a drive. There are some young guys looking for rides, many with money and many faster....time waits for nobody.

For me the unanswered question regarding Alonso in a red suit is his "conditions"- the conditions that is that saw the laughing stock that is piquet get AND RETAIN his drive at renault. Massa won't play the no.2 role, wasn't afraid to buck the rules and beat schu up on occasion and besides, apart from his "great weekends" where he's practically untouchable, for my money Massa is accomplished enough that in the right car he's a serious title prospect. Sit well alongside Alonso he wouldn't, and I can't see ferrari employing Piquet to appease him, they want two titles therefore need two good drivers.
EDIT: oh, and I'd love to see what the tifosi make of it when Alonso inevitably starts slating their beloved Ferrari team when things don't go his way

I think Alonso to Ferrari (a done deal isn't it?) with Kimi heading off to the WRC with Fiat. Rubens will do well to hold on to his drive for the rest of the season, let alone next year and will be replaced by Senna with JB staying on.
Piquet will end up at Force India if he's lucky to replace Fisi but will probably head off to the USA and as long as he does OK this year Grosjean will get a Renault drive for next year.
I'm not convinced Davidson will get a drive next year, but you never know, he could end up with one of the new teams because of his testing experience.
