keith needs a steering rack urgent!

hi all, i am away for all of next week so the only chance to get keith out for castle combe is if we can get a rack for the taz by sat morning, i can do the bodywork in the evenings this week, but need the rack fitted by sunday night or he is fubared, can any one help with a spare rack until we can replace it for you + beer tokens, or if you have one for sale that fits, as we are not even sure what it comes off.

It's still in the pipe line, but current owner is being very slow, and making his mind up, may have the option on another one, but not too sure as the company has just gone bust.

I got a rack from here http://www.carparts-direct.co.uk/Steering_Racks.cf...

They had them in stock. Very good refurbished units. Only 20 odd quid but they charge 30 quid extra if you don't sent to old one back to them.

I'm sure they do over night delivery. I collected mine as they are only located in Mansfield.

Not got the invoice anymore but I'm sure its an SR140

I checked with Richard Moore, and the rack they used, when they ran tasmins


was a MK3 Cortina Part Number TS526.


He checked with his local parts supplier and they didnt have one but thir sister shop did ( MK area)


Rich also said he was sure that Hyundi actually used the same rack, so as a lot of the core stock of cortina stuff is getting a bit old you might be better off getting the parts supplier to x reference which hyundi used the same rack and trying to get a new one direct from hyundi... probably 3-4 times as much in cost but much better unit... recon cortina racks are 30-40 quid..
