Anyone Camped In Silverstone Circuit

Looking to book up for the MotoGP next year and probably going to make a long weekend of it. Just wondering is the camp site like Donington in that you have to park away from you tent, or can you pitch up next to your car?

It was a very long time ago (say 20 years) but I believe we parked up next to the tent, because I ended up sleeping on the back seat of the car.

Just a short walk behind Becketts you have Whittlebury. Thats where i stayed for the Formula 1. If you got with a few people it's not too expensive. But the facilities there are spot on. Didn't have one complaint.

I've stayed at Whittlebury and New Rookery Farm campsites and both were Park at the side of your tent. I would imagine it would be the same.

I've stayed at Whittlebury a couple of times for the F1, fairly quiet site.I couldn't make it this year, but hope to stay there for the 2010 GP

I usualy stay at the SRA site and it's never been a problem except when it rained really heavily all week leading up to the GP (2007). Then we had to leave the cars in the top field and camp further down. Silverstone have only officialy received the exact dates for next years motoGP today. I'm sure the various campsites will gear up for the event closer to the date.

By the way didn't answer one of OP's questions earlier. You park directly next to your tent at Whittlebury.

Another vote for Whittlebury. We also stayed there for the Formula 1.

We even got a good steak dinner with starter, drinks etc, at their Golf club for under £20 a head

We camped this year at the Golf Club at Stowe. Was cheap, could park next to the tents and the food in the golf club wasn't bad money and was nice. Booked breakfast for all 3 mornings and was most enjoyable.
