I think there's always been a lot of doubt. It's been great publicity for all concerned in any case, but it might make far more practical sense for one of the test drivers to take the seat.

Of course the interest shown in the past week would have been nowhere near as great if Badoer had been indicated would it?

I don't think there is anything new in that report and would be surprised if he does not race. His brother Ralf has said he has been "itching" to drive again.
I'm still not convinced he really wanted to retire when he did, but was just presented with a set of circumstances that led to his decision.

However the undertone of greasy, lickspittle fanboy in his writings about Ferrari make me sick.

Agree with most sentiments above. I just thought the article from Allen cast more of a shadow of doubt on the return of Sch, although i guess that has/will be blown out of all proportion - naturally!!

So is that the same manager, Willi Weber, who was quoted as saying he was "200% sure" that Schumacher wouldn't drive for Ferrari again 24hrs before it was announced?!?
