Not wanting to P155 anyone off, but....

...do the results from Race 10 (yes THAT one) count for the championship?
Now before anyone goes off on one, the guys are OK, the dust has settled etc, and I was just writing my report for "Monster" and on checking the TSL site for times/positions etc found that Race 10 is classified.
I know that we follow the blue book as we are a C'ship and its not clear from that.
From what I can glean, anyone within 80% of Danny is classified as the race was stopped. I can't find a minimum race distance requirement. Cadwell wasn't anywhere near complete but from what I remember there were probably more laps than Combe...and that one wasn't classified.
Anyway, from someone who has given up all my EU jaunts to do a "full season" I just wondered.

further thoughts on this...
Several drivers got out of serviceable cars to help Owen and Ben, so points aren't appropriate but whats the rule anyway.
I sem to remember 75% race distance?

1st Race at Cadwell was less than 2 laps completed so declared as no contest, restart race (as happened). Later red flagged before 2 laps but not subsequently restarted due to time. Delcared no contest.
Coombe. 3 laps completed by the leader so should have been a re-start as part 2 of a two part race. Cars crossing the line the lap before the red flags were shown under their own power would have been classified and would take part in the second part of the race, starting from grid postions allocated from their finish postion the lap before the red flags. Several, though I'm not sure of the timing, of those that got out of servicable cars would I presume have been allowed to restart by virtue of the this consideration?
The MSA appointed clerk of the course would determine the duration of the second part of any two part race, but as we know there was no part 2 I presume as time constrained. I presume also it would be the clerk of the course that would deem the race a no contest or otherwise.
Normal scheudled race distance is minimum 12 miles. A scheduled 12 mile race that is subsequently aborted after more than 75% of its distance would be classified without restarts - in theory a smidge over 9 miles. 3 laps of Coombe is only a smidge over 5,5. Without best guessing the C of C, I would guess he would have declared the race a no contest.
This does little to clarify the situation but for sure (valentinorossimodeon)it needs to be put to bed before Anglesey as there are some who are serious about the championship.

Well here's another conundrum and please readers be assured that I am not entering this debate to "score points" - in either sense of the term. After returning to the paddock from Race 2, I went to Race Control to collect my MSA licence, which I expected to be signed up for Race 1 only. Instead I was told that the Clerk of the Course had classified Race 2, therefore my licence was signed up by him for both races and I picked up a copy of the results for Race 18. Could this be a collector's item in future years?!? I also met Geoff Parkinson who said he was on his way to talk to the Clerk, but I do not know what the outcome was.
I am only "the new kid on the blocks" but it would be appropriate, now that the dust and drama of Race 2 have settled, to know where we stand.

Having delt with the points in an unofficaial capacity for a couple of years now (and getting it wrong several times), as I understand it we are a MSA Championship and as such we have no control over the points. They are allocated via the MSA rules, based on official finishes. If the race stands...so do the points.
If the race was classified after a decision by the Clerk Of The Course then points are awarded.
He can decide whether or not to run a race 2-2 due to the lateness of the day and the clean-up therefore classifying the race. Danny was on Lap4.
Best to get it sorted before Anglesey.

Something is wrong with the timings http://www.tsl-timing.com/ccrc/2009/93268.pdf
Why have both Kevan and Tim been unclassified?

that does seem a little strange as chanty and i slid off on the oil together, with no contact, i restarted my car and headed for the crash site as it was clear ben was in trouble as he had not got out of the car, chanty had stopped a lot nearer so he got out to help ben also, after all was under control both dave and i returned to the paddock under the instruction of the marshals,
i thought we returned at the same time so its odd that he was classified and i am not, also as pointed out earlier we both stopped working cars to help with the accident, the decision to do this was a simple one for me, and would also be repeated even if points were at stake, but i would be pretty peeved if points were awarded to people who had comleted another lap under yellow/red flags when it was plainly obvious the race was over. but this is only my opinion, and i am in with a shot at the championship.

Hi mate,
That is weird then. There's still something amiss then if DC was in the same spot as you. I guess Tim B too.
Difficult for me to comment as I was at the back of the circuit by then.
BTW they (DC, TB, KG) didn't do anymore laps than you.
We (the rest) were all formed up on the grid for a restart and they didn't end up with us.

There is deffo something very wrong. As Tim says we both went off together and were within 5 tenths of each other, I was only 8 tenths behind Simmo, Richard was behind Tim, Tim B didn't spin off but pulled off to help.......... So, before anyone can think about points, this lot needs sorting out first.
I think that the rules say that it is the finishing order of the lap before the red flag is shown that is taken. The red flag was shown on lap four, so the result should be the finishing order of lap 3 and cars 9, 22, 55 and 77 should be included in the results.
You guys should get an appeal in to CCRC asap.

I spoke to JR yesterday and double checked with him about the points situation. Technically neither race should be counted as the race distance wasn't long enough, but despite this, race 1 will be counted.
So to clarify, the points I uploaded are the correct ones. Race 2 is not to be counted.
