Went off to make a coffee as the leaders crossed the line so I missed that.
He is a great rider, but must have felt more than a little silly after that, still , better than celebrating winning as you cross the line with 1 lap to go and managing to lose the race as a result like the other bloke did a couple of races back, that was TRULY cringeworthy, how the guy managed to face his team afterwards I will never know.

Used to always do that when learning to wheelie a mountain bike when i was a kid, so guess its quite easy to do that with a race motorbike

I reckon Biaggi was over the vertical there too. But Bautista wasn't quite as quick to hit the rear brake to bring himself down again. Well he did come down, but not in the way he'd hoped.

Hoisting a wheelie of Biaggi's magnitude was very easy on a 500cc 2-stroke racing bike, with 190bhp, weighing about 135kg, with a powerband about 1000rpm wide.

Very easy indeed.

Even easier to crash one as well. Ask Saarinen / Doohan / Rainey / Sarron / Mamola / de Radigues / Spencer / Lawson / Roberts Snr / Checa

ETA Didier de Radigues who had a fking monster spill at Mugello in 1985, and Carlos Checa at Donington in 1999.
