Positive noises coming from Mclaren - the track also suits the KERS cars. Redbulls cant seem to perform on the slower twistier tracks.

I think Lewis at least on the podium.

I'd go with Hamilton for a podium. Will Brawn have a better showing than in the last few races?

I just compared the corners from the Hungaroring to Valencia (using the maps above) the average Lateral G at Valencia was 2.05 compared to 2.55 at the Hungaroring.

Now i'm just a pen pusher in an office, and have no technical knowledge, so those figures may be meaningless to me, but might mean something to someone else

Fingers crossed Brawn can get competative again, but I suspect Mclaren will be up there, and Kimi has a point to prove at the moment.

Despite this not supposedly being Red Bull track I reckon one or both could feature up there too.

So in short I reckon it could be any of them

This could be a race to remeber! I'm thinking a Alonso & Hamilton front row, so a good fight there on Lap 1, plus street races always throw up a good few incidents. Fingers crossed Button can get a few points to stay ahead of the Red Bull pair.

Also, it will be good to see how fast Badoer is after his 10 year break, I'd love to see him suprise a few people, but the chance of him losing a front wing on lap one are surely high?

If I remember correctly; sadly last years race was turgid in the extreme! Overtaking was distinctly difficult.

Having said that, this year does seem to have generated a few interesting races, so we can but hope!

You could be right about the front row; if only because Alonso will be on fumes in Q3 to look good at home and give the locals something to cheer about. Also hoping that the weather stays as currently forecast (32C for Sunday) so that Brawn do get their tyres working and whatever blindalley they went up they have reversed out of ...

It is getting that close at the front that even predicting who'll be in the points, let alone on the podium or winning is tricky! Which can't be a bad thing for Button as long as the podium is not Red Bull! I think if he can squeeze another win in somewhere in the next few races and the Red Bulls both have a couple of DNFs then things will look more comfortable again.

you do remember correctly, it was dire. they have made some circuit modifications, pulling barriers back, opening up corners, bit more run-off at places, pitlane exit(?) - we'll see if they have done their job. don't hold out much hope to be honest but really it can't be any worse than last year.

I was hugely disappointed by Valencia last year, hopefully it'll be a better race this year. I'm not getting my hopes up though...
