Belgian F1 GP - Can you buy tickets at the gate?

As per the title.

Aiming to go along for the Friday only but would like to know if you can just arrive and pay for the day, or is it all pre-purchased weekend tickets?

Yes you can, in fact I spoke to them today, you can see why if you read the other thread "anyone going to Belgian GP".Ticket booths are normally at the roundabout just before La Source walking down the hill from Francorchamps (& for all I know at other entrances? ) They are open from 7am on Friday & at time of writing they still have tickets for Gold 3 (480e for weekend) & Gold 5 , both covered & on the outside at the top & inside at the apex of EauRouge / Radillon 6 no doubt many others.

BTW, don't know about tickets for Fri only, I have always had a weekend, or a long time ago just Sunday ticket, but I imagine you can buy Fri only ?

Sorry to hear about your ticket fiasco on the other thread! Just what you need, a bit of extra stress before your trip.

Im still interested to know if anyone has gone and bought a single day ticket for Friday, I cant do the whole weekend this time, and you get to see as much of the cars on the Friday (if not more) than on Saturday or race day IMHO.

Cheers for the heads up Sarah, thankfully Ive just sorted the tickets (ebay), so no bother now. Not too bad at 60 euro for 2 tickets

I go to Spa quite a lot for various events (being the right side of the water for it) but theres nothing quite like the sound of an F1 car on full chat round that place! Cant wait!

Just to close this thread " historically", there were all sort of tickets for sale even on race day (including a covered version of Gold 4 @ 450 for the weekend, or 410 on Sun only) & you could indeed buy tickets for just Fri or Sat if that was your want. This appeared to be a last-minute constructed stand which they called Gold 4 France. Everyone in there bought their tickets at the gate , with the exception of a few "freeloaders", so it seems that it was intended for corporate freebies & they banged out at the last moment (leaving plenty of tickets for those of us more deserving) The seats weren't numbered, which again supports the freebie theory. This was great as , if like a real enthusiast you were there @ 0820 for the Formula Masters race, you bagged the best place. Having said that the stand was only 2/3rds full anyhow. I was told on Friday that the promoter only sold 45,000 out of 65-70,000 places avail & there was a nasty rumour that when the current contract is up in 2012 the race could be held on alternate years with the Nurburgring. . . . so all you "pistonheads", to stop this arriving get your ass over to Spa for the next few years. If you buy Gold 4 weekend before end of October it is 340e, rising incrementally to 425e after the end of May. Get your hands in your pockets lads, a little rain never hurt anyone, and this year it was truly just a little (Fri morn free practice)
Oh, and BTW, as I found out to my chagrin, use the OFFICIAL site at www.spagrandprix.com to ensure you get the tickets you ordered and not something different / inferior.
