Canon to sponsor Brawn

So, Canon are sponsoring Brawn for the Singapore GP. I'm glad they're back in F1, as they vowed never to sponsor F1 again after Frank did the dirty on them in the 1980s.

It certainly brings back fond memories of the turbo era.

Williams reneged on their Canon contract and took on Rothmans as the main sponsor. Canon were understandably disappointed. I'm not sure what, if any, the legal consequences were.

Replaced them as Title Sponsor back in 1994. Prost won the '93 championship with Canon sponsorship, Canon thought all was well. Frank got Rothmans sponsorship and told Canon very last minute that they weren't wanted any more as a title sponsor, but they were welcome to be a "making up the numbers" sponsor.

Alot more money was on the table. Frank did what was technically best for the team, not what was morally correct.

Good idea - with a mostly white car it won't cost much in paint either

Teams can't pick and choose with sponsors now. Brawn has done a good job keeping Virgin at arms length because they wouldn't pay enough.
