I took the (IMHO) best suggestions so far and the Poll is full.

Please vote, tell your friends.

The vote in the lead on Thursday evening at 20:00 will be the PH choice. Then it is up to you guys to deluge the BBC F1 text number letting them know what the corner's new name is.

I put in the ones that would be most likely read out on the BBC. I have only just worked out the Fiddlers elbow one might not be as innocent as it seems.

Due to the double entendre in the "Piquet's Straight" name it can't really go in as they will never read it out.

Even though I suggested Fiddler's Elbow, I'm voting for Craneless Curves. Brilliant!

(Not as good as Dropabolica, but the BBC is never going to read that out.)

Piquet Straight was the original suggestion, Piquet's Straight is someone elses interpretation, as would be Piquets' Straight. But I agree they would all sound the same when read out which might lead to a double entendre, but its all in the mind and surely not legally enforceable...

TBH I can see a bigger issue with droppabollica.

Isn't the point of a poll that it covers all the options? Shall I start one what is your favouite colour? blue, green or yellow. You can't pick red as I don't like it.

I tried not to make it like that. The only one which I intentionally left out was the "Piquet Straight" option. Any others from the original thread were not as strong suggestions imho. There were around 20 suggestions to choose from at the time of starting the poll.

One of the strongest suggestions in the original thread was "Eloquent Spin", but that has not done well in the poll.

Well the results are in, It's Dropabolica with Craneless Curves coming in a close second.


The Text number is 81111 or [e-mail] I think. Correct me if I am wrong on that.
