With all that's happened in F1 in recent years is it not time for a complete change at the top. The Spank is going this year, hopefully Ari will become the new FIA President and start a fresh beginning there...

...but that still leaves The Midget in charge of the 'Business' end of the F1 sport.

Damon Hill has come out today and shot at The Midget with comments about the Renault situation:

"Formula 1 has to ask itself, is it just a very expensive form of entertainment or a proper sport? There is a whole book on what's wrong with Formula 1. It's called Bernie's Game and the history of this episode is typical."

So is now the time to force The Midget out of the sport and bring in fresh blood to draw a line under all the problems of recent years?

Of course it is BUT who has the financial clout to do it and why would they want to. I think the image is forever tainted now.

Whats interesting is that Renault have not confirmed that they are even staying in F1.

Sadly things are about to get a whole lot worse. Vatanen doesn't have a hope of running the FIA and unless something very drastic happens, we're stuck with Todt and Bernie for as long as he remains on Earth. The only hope is that Max feels invincible and fancies a pop at Luca. Then things will get interesting.

CVC have the financial clout, but presumably have a contract which means their hands are tied. The only other option is for someone to buy out CVC and there are only two people I can think of who may be able to afford to do that. Bernie is one of them (although his ex-wife might not give him the money) and the other was yesterday banned from having anything to do with the business currently operated by Bernie.
