The former Renault driver was linked to a possible move to Manor GP earlier this week after team owner John Booth told the Yorkshire Post: "I've not spoken to him at the moment, but he's a smashing little driver.
"I've no personal problems with him, but it is unclear what his current position is with regards sponsorship."
However, Virgin, who are reportedly set to swap Brawn GP for Manor GP when the team makes its debut next season, have already poured cold water of any possibility that they may be willing to employ Piquet Jr.
"We will make our plans known after the end of the season," Alex Tai, the Virgin board member responsible for group sponsorship, told Autosport.
"I don't believe it is professional to in any way talk about our plans while we are sponsoring another team this year, namely Brawn - who happen to be leading both Championships and who I personally believe will win the championships.
"However, what I can say, is that as a director of the main board of Virgin, I can assure you that we would never have anybody in a team sponsored by us who cheats."

Virgin have a 20% stake in the team, and rumour has it they're planning on taking the name, too.
To be honest, if they defy Branson, I can't see them surviving much longer.
