ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH.
so sorry that you can't straight line every corner.
so sorry that you have to drive the track properly.
so sorry that if you drive like a t
t and over cook it you end up crashing.
so sorry, first time to Suzuka and yet he knows everything about the place.
we need more Suzuka/Spa like tracks than bloody Singapore/other boring track.

Thank god for that, I thought I was the only person who found the Singapore circuit boring!
I am not alone ...
Trust me, You are definately not alone with that thought. The Singapore race looked like they were racing round an empty multi storey car park at night with all those concrete barriers!. The track looks great at night from the helicopter, but looking at the onboard footage: I am not alone ...

What is your complaint? What has he done wrong?
He's claiming that because He can't take degner1 as fast as He would like to and that when He cuts across the curb it throws Him off the track,it is therefore a dangerous corner and should be changed. What He should do really is what most the other drivers managed,go round it slightly slower and don't cut the curb. That with a sensible ride height and there is no problem.
If it's so dangerous, where are the rest of the drivers supporting His claim?.

He was presumably asked a question about why he and other drivers crashed at that particular corner corner. In response, he talked about some contributory factors and made a suggestion about how those factors could be reduced in the future. I don't see what's so wrong about that. Do you also object to every other time a racing driver has made comments about how a race track could be made more safe?
As for the opinions of the other drivers, have they all been asked?

.However, the way he's talking about how they should change Degner1, he seems to think he already is a deity.

until you have been through the corner yourself in a formula one car, I struggle to see how you can argue that he has no balls. Using a bit of Curb is the racing line. If that curb is dangerous then it should be changed to make it safe to use Or built up so that you cant touch it and drivers will adjust the line through that corner.

Surely if You find that going over the curb throws you off the track, then you treat it like it was raised up and stay off it?, thats what the other drivers who got round Degner1 with no issues were doing. The purpose of the curb is to define the edge of the track and to the letter of the law, technically You shouldn't cut across any curbs, but a blind eye has been turned on it so long as two wheels are still on track (hence the raising of the curbs at Monza, because drivers were taking the p*ss and short cutting them).Again I ask, if it's so dangerous, where is all the support from the other drivers?.

"You carry a lot more corner speed in these cars than you did in 2006. With the slick tyres it's crazy how fast you can be mid-corner. And there is no run-off here, the wall is quite near to the track." Seems to imply that He's saying it's dangerous to Me!, otherwise, why the need to change the kerbs?.
As for asking the other drivers, I'm sure if they felt it was as bad as Alguersuari implies then they would all be making the same complaint and would threaten not to drive on the grounds of safety.
As it is, they, unlike Alguersuari, have realised they need to enter degner1 more carefully and not to cut across the kerb.

I think it is a splendid circuit and just dangerous enough to make the drivers think twice about taking chances. Compare it with Tilke's boredromes such as Istanbul
Theres an interesting article in this months MotorSport magazine on Tilke and his designs (and why they are like they are) makes good reading, apparently we're all in for a shock with Abu Dhabi, it's apparently supposed to be fantastic (wont be holding breath, but you never know) as is Ferrari world 4rephill said:

I think you're imagining that he's said something he hasn't said. He didn't say it is dangerous and he didn't say he doesn't want to drive. He was probably asked a question about why there were an unusual number of crashes at that corner and responded by saying that it's because it's a fast corner with a difficult kerb and that changing the kerb would make it safer. What is wrong with a driver expressing an opinion on the safety of a circuit and how it could be improved?"You carry a lot more corner speed in these cars than you did in 2006. With the slick tyres it's crazy how fast you can be mid-corner. And there is no run-off here, the wall is quite near to the track." I don't think you are in a position to judge if he has balls or not.
How many corners have you taken in your Elise at +3g knowing if you muck it up you could end up in hospital, not that many I would imagine.
that's a bit of a dumb thing to say....How many corners have you taken in your Elise at +3g knowing if you muck it up you could end up in hospital, not that many I would imagine.
if you race, and your at the sharp end of the grid, then there is likely the possibility that you will fall off and potentially get hurt, how many G you were pulling at the time is somewhat irrelevant, it's likely to still hurt quite a lot when you hit a hard object.
for example, a 2CV can probably not make 1G in a corner, but I am dam sure hitting the wall in one is just as likely to do you more serious damage than Timo Glock got today in F1.
(for the record, yes, I do race and yes I have hit some HARD objects before, and no, it does not change the way I approach a cct)
